Last year I tried to buy a Wii for my friend's kids and did the reseach in November. They were expensive, but still affordable.  I stupidly did not actually go to buy it until 3 weeks before Christmas and then it was too late!  The prices had doubled and then they tripled.  Don't let this happen to you.  I ended up paying some ridiculous amount and was so upset about it.

Grandma is picking one up for the kids. I will have to pass that on to her as she has never purchased a game system so will probably try to wait til last minute as well.

I imagine a lot of people are buying the Wii system as the only gift they give this year.  It is so expandable that you could end up saving money, after the initial purchase, by not to paying for the same number of individual toys over the next 5 year period!

I don't think that anyone should have a problem picking up a Wii this year for Christmas. The stores have plenty in stock and the big hype surrounding the Wii has somewhat disappeared.

Wiis aren't as hard to find this year as they were last year.  My sister bought one on Black Friday for her daughter.  I remember how rediculous the prices went up to last year.  My son bought one and paid way over what they are going for this year.

it seems like all of you are so into Wii. Is it really worth it? Could you enlighten me about this toy, if so, I plan to buy one for my son this Christmas. Thanks to all..

We have a Wii.  We got it for Father's Day.

Personally, I think it is fantastic.  My husband is a gamer so I suspect my boys will inevitably get into video games.  Choosing the Wii was my way of taking a little control over the situation.  Wii games can be extremely active and rather than just sitting around playing like vegetables, you can really work up a sweat.  Wii Sports is a game program that comes with every Wii out of the factory and has several sports available on it.  I actually use the Boxing program for an aerobic workout!  Personally, I hate video games, but I love the Wii!
